Using a Teamspeak 2 server from pulsegaming.com
Teamspeak can be used for home / personal applications like talking to friends and family, or playing organized online games where Voice Communications can make them more exciting and productive. It can also be used in an enterprise environment as a productivity tool for conducting long distance group discussions.
There are 2 components that go to make up Teamspeak. There is the server portion, which runs on pulsegaming.com servers, and the client portion that runs on your computer.
Please first make sure that you have the latest version of the Teamspeak Client software. This can be downloaded from the downloads section of this control panel.
Once you have installed the “Client” software on your computer, you are ready to configure it to connect to your pulsegaming.com Teamspeak 2 Server.
Configuring and Connecting your TeamSpeak 2 Client
If this is the first time you have configured or used TeamSpeak, then it will look something like this:-

1. Create a new Server entry.
The first item to do is to create the main server entry. To do this click on the word “Connection” and choose “Connect”
The new server window will appear.

Right click in the “white” area of this window and choose “Add Server”
Then choose the name you would like to refer to this server as.

2. Configuring the TeamSpeak 2 Client to connect to your server.
a. Enter the “Server Address” teamspeak.pulsegaming.com (this is the same for all our servers) followed by your port number – ie teamspeak.pulsegaming.com:8767

We are often asked why we don’t provide an IP address like 217.64.127.x to be entered into the hostname field, but teamspeak.pulsegaming.com The reason is that by using a host name it is easy for us to upgrade the servers or move to a different physical machine in case of hardware failure without any need to notify our customers. This ensures minimal “downtime” and less configuration changes for you, the customer.
b. Your Nickname. This can be anything you decide you would like it to be.

c. You now have the option to log on as a validated user. This would give you the access rights set up by the server owner. If you have been give an admin username and password, then you could use these here to give you admin rights as soon as you log on. You are also able to make admin changes through TeamSpeak web control panel, which is described later. For this example we will log onto the server anonymously.

d. Setting the server password. This is the password that is required for any person to join your server. Although it is possible to run a TeamSpeak server without a server password, we strongly recommend you leave a password on it to help stop unauthorised idlers in your server. You may also choose to use the auto reconnect option in case your connection drops for some reason. In which case your TeamSpeak client will automatically reconnect you.

All that is now left to do is hit the “connect” button when you are ready for the first time to connect to your Pulse Gaming TeamSpeak 2 server.
The first time you connect your TeamSpeak client will look something like this.

If you had logged in with the Administrator username and password your TeamSpeak client would look something like this.

From this point on you should be able to find your way around the TeamSpeak 2 client using the help topics, found under the “Help” menu. |
